This is your Mind on Plants (book review)

Michael Pollan has finished another amazing book. This one is a little different than the ones we have reviewed before because it is about what some call drugs, others call psychedelics and yet others call medicine. In his book, he covered three plants and their effects on our mind: opium, caffeine and mescaline. He opened the book with an edited essay about his experience with opium, the opium poppy and the law in the late 90s. Next, he talked about caffeine and its effects on history from those who discovered it to caffeine in the modern world. Finally, he ends talking about mescaline, a medicine that has a history in the Americas beginning in Peru and with Native Americans. Overall, this was a well written perspective on plants and medicine, drugs or psychedelics.
