Laura and her family have lived in the Big Woods for as long as Laura has been alive. She lives with her Ma and Pa, her sister, Mary, and Baby Carrie. Jack, the dog, guards them at night and protects them from bears and panthers and Pa’s big gun is never too far away to keep them safe.
